A lesson in the value of bold faith.
The English have taken over much of France, and the French troops have begun to lose hope. A young maiden, Joan of Arc, hears the voices of three angels -- St. Michael, St. Catherine and St. Margaret -- who tell her that she must lead the French army to drive out the English, free her people from oppression and see that Prince Charles is crowned king.
Trusting in these voices she believes have been sent by God, Joan of Arc travels to the castle and is tested by Prince Charles to find him in the crowd. Joan of Arc picks out Prince Charles and is adorned in armor to lead the French army in battle.
Joan's bold faith inspires the army troops to press on in the battle attempts even though they are tired and wounded. Because of her encouragement and leadership, the French overcome the English.
Joan's victory is short-lived when she is captured by the English, branded as a witch and burned at the stake. But because of the impact she made with the French army, they are inspired to continue the work she started.
